Playing PLO, which I suck at, get Lee to bluff three pair into me when I have a set of jacks. I tank and call, and would have stacked him if I had him covered. Pretty sweet, since he has a bracelet in PLO, and I'm probably a lifetime loser in PLO.
The screenshot shows the pot I won in the chat, along with Lee saying "nh" to me, which is kind of cool.

Here's the hh:

[Dec. 4th, 2006|09:10 am] |
This is my Poker Grapher graph. It posts my $ won and lost for the past 52 days, which is the recorded history that I have in PokerTracker. It doesn't include my play during any of the summer, it starts basically in the beginning of October, when I was first starting with 100nl.
So, this sums up my so-far career in 100nl. The results are pleasing to me. I make one buyin an hour (around $100) since I play 8 tables, assuming I get in 100 hands/hour. It surprised me that I actually only average 1.5 hours/day, or 10.5 hours/week, of actual cash grinding. The rest is just donking around. I felt like I grinded more, I guess not. All in all, I'm glad the line is headed upwards. I feel I can beat 200nl for more than 3bb/100, meaning I should move up.

[Nov. 29th, 2006|08:31 am] |
Lots to talk about since I haven't updated in a long time and Dave/John reminded me to.
First off I caught perfect runners today with J8 vs AA vs 88 on 833JJ. Yup, clearly my multi-table grinding has refined my poker skills to the point where I get it in with a (3/43)*(2/42) = 6/1806 = 0.33% chance of winning.
Rewinding a bit, I played in the HORSE event of the FTOPS, and busted like 15 spots away from the money. Noah Boeken, Exclusive, and kwob20 (winner of two WCOOP events) were at my table. They both took pots off of me during the stud hi round. I also got like 986th/1005 in the PLHE event, I should have folded into the money but I was playing for first.
Grinding has been alright, but haven't been able to successfully make the transition to 200nl like I thought I would be at by now. In August when I started with a fresh bankroll of 300, I made the outlandish goal of having 10k by Christmas and I actually surpassed that goal sometime around late October. Right now I have the roll for 200nl except I am currently running at -12bb/100 over 2k hands. So obviously I am not making proper adjustments either to the floating/laggier/taggier/looser/more agro/more solid/smarter play that I am encountering. I think it's also an issue of variance but I am not sure. One session I was up four buyins in like 100 hands and then spewed it every which way, and ended down one.
Then today, I played a 40 minute session and dropped 8 buyins...it was a comedy of errors. Getting it in every possible horrible way, and then when I got it in good, it turned out I was only a slight favorite, and then when I got it in solidly good, they drew out. The bad ones included overs+fd+oe vs top set on flop, AA vs set on flop, KK vs set on flop, and 45 vs JJ on Jx55. Then I got it in with mid set vs top pair and flush draw on the flop and the suit turned and the river didn't pair, and I got it in with top set vs flopped flush. Then I got it in with top two vs openender with one street to come...go ahead and complete the 2367(5) with I have 67 and he has 89.
I played a $3 rebuy on stars today with a gazillion players, it was a 20k guaranteed. I was chip leader after 5 minutes, with a 20k stack (1.5k starting). It was pretty sweet...I busted like 2000th (not even) but it was a fun way to waste 3 bucks on a lotto ticket...I mean rebuy tournament. |

Satellited into event number one of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, FTOPS, which was a $200+16 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event. It had over 600 entries and over 100k in guaranteed prize pool, I had a great tournament and was a big stack for most of the tournament. Towards the end I became less active, and then when I went to make my moves I came out on the unfortunate end of things. It happens. Anyways, I turned a $26 satellite investment into $998, so I am fine with that. I wish I could have final tabled it though.

[Oct. 31st, 2006|07:40 am] |
Played a $109 to warm up for the FTOPS and I got 27/337, which was lame because I was like the 7th stack with 30 to go. Some guy hit a wicked four outer on me for all my chips, it was one of the grossest hands I've had to experience ever, because this was the biggest MTT I've ever bought in for, and also because I had a healthy stack, first place was 9k, and I was a huge favorite over him. If I won the hand I probably would have been near the chip lead with 25ish left. The final table of 6 were guaranteed like 1.5k.
Tough beat, oh well. |
